Frequently asked questions
Klöckner Moeller, Moeller, Eaton: what is the difference?
It is the same company in different eras. Klöckner-Moeller was renamed Moeller GmbH in 1999 and acquired by Eaton in 2008. You will therefore find the PS4, PS416 and other controllers under all three names, sometimes also spelled Klöckner Möller or Kloeckner Moeller.
Are spare parts still available for Moeller controllers?
New parts are hardly available. Used and refurbished modules can still be found, but prices and delivery times are hard to plan. Spare parts are therefore a bridging solution, not a permanent one.
Is a retrofit worthwhile or is a spare part enough?
That depends on the condition, spare parts situation and planned remaining service life of the plant. The first sensible step is almost always a data backup, so that you can act in the event of a fault. We advise you on both options.
Which systems do you migrate to?
To Siemens S7-1500 or S7-1200 with TIA Portal, with distributed I/O on ET 200SP, or to Beckhoff TwinCAT. The choice depends on your plant standard and the system.
