Moeller PS3, PS306 and PS316: back up the program and replace the controller
These controllers are the older generation from Klöckner Moeller. They were programmed with DOS software; suitable computers and cables are hardly available any more. This is exactly what becomes a problem in the event of a fault.
The risk
Many PS3 and PS316 plants run without problems until a module fails. Then there is no spare part, no program and nobody who can still operate the software. The result is long, unplanned downtime.
Our solution
- We have the equipment to work with the old software and back up the program.
- We convert ladder diagram programs (LAD) into a structured, readable form.
- We replace coupled controllers, e.g. several PS3 linked via Suconet, with a single modern PLC.
- For small plants, a Siemens S7-1200 with a few expansion modules is often sufficient.

Which software was used to program the PS3, PS306 and PS316?
With DOS-based versions of Sucosoft. These only run on old hardware or in specially set-up environments. We have both.
Is a repair still worthwhile for such old controllers?
As a bridging solution yes, in the long term rarely. We recommend backing up the program now and planning the retrofit before a failure determines the timing.
We have two PS3 connected via Suconet. Can they be combined in one controller?
Yes, that is a typical case. Both programs are merged and implemented on a single new PLC.
Which controller runs your plant?
Send us the type, year of manufacture and a photo of the control cabinet. You will get an honest assessment of whether repair, data backup or a retrofit makes sense.
